I remember the day I was born... Erm, made. It was night-time, three in the morning, I think. I remember struggling to open my eyes, to breathe, and to do all the things that kept one alive. And while I couldn't do these activities, I wasn't dead. I felt alive, and better than I ever had

Everything was still for the first 10 seconds. Then, I felt a billion volts of electricity travel through my body. I didn't realise at first, but it brought oxygen along with it. The electricity felt fantastic, like someone had given me something I craved for a long time. And in this case, I assume the 'something' was life.

I tried to open my eyes again, feeling my eyelids slide open slowly.  I turned my head around to navigate. My vision was blurry, but I could make out a lever and a figure in the dark room. I looked back up to see the brightest light I had ever seen. It would normally be bright enough to blind someone, but my vision remained.

The figure emerged from the shadows that haunted the corners of the room. He was a wolf with a rust coloured coat, except for the top of his head, which was auburn. His sky blue eyes gleamed with pride and satisfaction. He had a creepy smile plastered onto his face, and his front left paw was vibrant red.

"I did it!" He praised himself, "Rise!"

Obeying him seemed to be my only choice, so I put my paws on the metal table and tried to push myself off. My arms weren't strong enough to hold up my weight yet, so I tumbled onto the cold, metal floor. The figure from the shadows, Shadow, didn't bother to help me up. Instead, he chuckled.

"Come along now." He led me up the stairs into a small, one floor house. There were three rooms, two with wooden doors, and one with a metal door. The main room had an unnecessarily high ceiling, with a window, too high up for Shadow to reach.

"Do you want know why the ceiling's so high?" Shadow asked me. I nodded. It seemed silly to have a ceiling this high. "It's so I can't escape. As you may have noticed, there's no door leading to the outside world."

From this sentence I deduced that Shadow was a criminal of some sort. And I was trapped in his prison.

"However, I gave you wings so you could bring me my needs. You'll fly up there and break the glass, understood? Then I'm going to give you a list of things for you to fetch for me, and you're going to get them for me."

I needed to obey Shadow. He was a dangerous criminal, and I needed to get on his good side if I wanted to survive. But the ceiling was so high, and I was too scared to even lift myself of the ground. What would Shadow Wolf do to me if I couldn't complete the task?

I struggled to talk. I hadn't gotten used to it yet. In fact, it was surprising that I was able to. "I c-can't... I-I'm s-scared..."  I stuttered, shaking.

Shadow's smile curled down to form a frown. He creased his eyebrows and stared at me with disappointment. He struck my cheek with his vibrant red paw. I fell onto the ground once again.

"I knew I shouldn't have given you such a new brain..." Shadow mumbled to himself "Your old brain wouldn't work, because it's pretty much dead... It was a gamble, really, and I chose to give you a new brain... Ugh, big mistake on my part..."

He stormed off with an aura that seemed to be a mix of rage, embarrassment, and a hint of sadness. I felt bad for putting him into this mood. I followed him into the basement we had came out of. He stopped at the door and looked back. He must've noticed that I was following him.

"What do you want?"

"I-I'm s-sorry..."

"Don't be."

"B-But I-it's my..."

"No, it's not."

"I c-can make up f-for it..."

"No, you can't.

"I-I'll help you, Master, erm..."

"Master Redo."

"Master Redo, I-I could help..."

"No." He slammed the door to my face. I sat down on the floor and stared at the wall.

During the time I spent with Redo, I started to see him as a father. Which he sort of was.

Sometimes, I helped Redo with his projects. He worked as an OC Commissionee, which meant that he disassembled decommissioned OC's and stitched them back up, but by combining them. And sometimes, when he had spare parts, he made more scouts, warriors or assistants. But they'd always end up not obeying him, so he locked them up in a secret place.

He tried to lock me up once, too, but I resisted. I'm not sure why, but he gave in and let me stay with him, to work as an assistant. I may not have been a good scout, but I was an excellent assistant.

I sometimes heard screams from one of the rooms, but it would always be locked. The screams terrified me, but Redo didn't seem to hear them. And if he did, he didn't show any reactions to it. It was as if it was a daily occurrence to him.

One day, I asked Redo what my name was. He struggled to think one up, but he ended up saying 'Mistake.' The conversation ended there.

I used to wonder why Redo, my creator and father, named me that. But now, it doesn't really bother me. I got used to it.

Based off a huge rp I did (and am still doing) with BlueInkWolf! Mistake belongs to me, while Redo belongs to her :D
